About The House
The House of Good Fortune is a boutique-gallery where contemporary and vintage finds come together in unexpected ways. Our collection comprises garments, personal adornments, curios, and art — pieces valued for their quality, individuality, and presence. Some carry stories, some spark conversation, all are chosen with intention. Based in New Hope, Pennsylvania, the boutique reflects a love of discovery and a belief that the objects we surround ourselves with can shape the way we live.
The shop is an outgrowth of an educational website and blog devoted to cataloguing and exploring the objects our Creative Director has long collected — good luck charms, talismans, amulets, religious paraphernalia — basically anything related to positivity and protection, along with folk art, textiles and jewelry.
The collection has grown and culminated in this physical space dedicated to curating objects of distinction. Come visit and find a treasure that speaks to you.
Our motto is “Be Nice or Leave,” so please check your bad vibes at the door. :)
Meet Renée
As Creative Director of The House of Good Fortune, Renée is equal parts bon vivant, nerd, and lover of esoterica. She delights in research rabbit holes as much as in an artistically set table or a stimulating conversation. The boutique is her vision brought to life — blending curiosity, style, and storytelling into a space that feels like a combination of a gallery, treasure chest, and cabinet of curiosities.
FAQs
When will the shop open?
Soon. We are getting the space ready and hope to have a soft launch before the end of 2025. Please sign up for updates and notifications of pop-up shopping events and stay tuned. If you have questions, please use the contact form or email address below to get in touch.
Do you sell goods online?
Not yet. For now, The House of Good Fortune is an in-person experience. Select objects may become available online in the future, but our philosophy is rooted in the idea that discovery is best done in person, particularly for our one-of-a-kind items. (But if you see something you like, contact us and we may be able to work something out.)
Where do you get your inspiration?
Everywhere. From the folk traditions and symbolic objects I’ve studied, to the extraordinary artists and designers I encounter, to the pieces I’ve collected on my travels. Inspiration also comes from the unexpected — something curious at a flea market, a textile with a hidden story, or a detail in a museum that sparks an idea.
Can I sell my artwork at The House of Good Fortune?
We love discovering new artists and makers. If you think your work aligns with our vision, please get in touch through our contact page/email. While we can’t feature everything we’re offered, we are always open to seeing work that reflects craft, creativity, and individuality.
Why New Hope, PA?
New Hope has long been a destination for artists, makers, and free spirits. It’s a place where people came looking for something different or unique. Opening here felt natural: it’s both a vibrant local community and a town that draws curious visitors who want discovery and character.
Is The House of Good Fortune an antique shop? An art gallery?
Not exactly. While we offer vintage and antique treasures, we are not a traditional antique shop. The House of Good Fortune blends old and new — garments, personal adornments, curios, and fine and folk art — in a collection that feels eclectic, contemporary, and intentional.
Who shops at The House of Good Fortune?
Collectors, creatives, and the curious. Our customers are people who appreciate distinctive design, seek out one-of-a-kind pieces, and believe the objects we live with should inspire conversation or convey meaning. Some come to find a perfect gift, others to learn about weird and wonderful objects, but all share a love of discovery and a willingness to walk down a side street. :)
